Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ)
-
How long has BCCA been operating and why was this school started? Our school was founded in 2006 by a group of Christian parents, teachers and church leaders who love the Lord, and desired for their children the type of education that was once the standard in America. We offer what secular government schools cannot - a great academic program in a safe and secure setting.
- Is BCCA associated with a denomination or certain church? Yes. BCCA is a mission of the Gateway Church of Christ in Mardela Springs, Md. and is located on the Church property. The Churches of Christ are non-denominational, meaning we use only the name of our Savior and challenge everyone to be united on the Bible alone.
- Are BCCA students required to wear school uniforms? Yes. See page 20 of the Student Handbook. Our dress code instills the seriousness in which we approach the academic day.
- Are high school students required to complete community service hours? Yes. All high school students are required to complete at least 100 hours of community service. Records must be kept including signatures of the recipients.
- How about volunteering at BCCA? We have been blessed with volunteers from the Gateway Church of Christ and parents and grandparents of our students. If you are interested in helping out, we would love to give you a job!
- Does BCCA offer testing to evaluate student progress? Yes, a standardized testing (STANFORD) program is administered each year to compare our students' achievements to the national norm. We are proud of our students' success.
