Academic ProgramOur academic program is designed to honor God while responding to individual needs. Weekly CHAPEL SERVICE and DAILY BIBLE CLASS are an essential part of student life on the BCCA campus. Chapel is inclusive and interactive with our students to encourage personal application of biblical truths. We often invite guest speakers from Church of Christ churches to participate in worship with us. BCCA IS A MEMBER OF ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) giving all students the opportunity to participate in ACSI academic competitions with local Christian schools. These competitions are important in developing skills needed for Christian leadership and to become effective communicators. They also provide a time of fellowship with other young Christians and help develop the composure and confidence of each student. In our ELEMENTARY DEPARTMENT, our focus on mathematics includes fractions, decimals, percents, geometric symbols and converting metric units. LIFEPAC Language Arts is used to teach reading, writing, listening, speaking and spelling. We emphasize the basic parts of speech including rules of capitalization and punctuation, techniques of invention, word choice, sentence and paragraph structure, paragraph development, journal and letter writing, story and poetry writing, basic research writing and literature. Our program for MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL is designed to prepare our students for higher education. The extensive high school curriculum is organized around the core subjects of English, Bible, mathematics, science, social studies and history. All BCCA students receive instruction in Spanish, Computer and physical education and participate in the Christmas Drama and Musical performance to celebrate Jesus' birth. A Spelling B competition is held each fall and piano class is offered for a small weekly fee. |
